Holy cow! I’m actually sharing some engagement photographs! Yes, I photograph weddings. Yes, I deliver the photos to the Bride & Groom or the Groom & Groom or the Bride & Bride. However, I have the hardest time sharing those photos on the blog or any of my social media channels. I have weddings from several years ago that I still haven’t blogged, ack! So here are Alex and Josie’s engagement photos. We shot these near Bridal Veil Falls. It was early fall so we had some snow on the ground. Bridal Veil Falls is up Provo Canyon so it was still feeling the effects of winter.
I brought my lighting along so I could make the future bride and groom look amazing and I faked sunlight using one of the lights. A little bit of orange gel and it comes behind the couple and blamo… sunset.
Spring weddings are very cool. The snow is melting and plants are starting to bloom and blossom. However, when we photograph the engagements… none of that has happened yet! There is the promise of green but we just have to make do. Autumn weddings end up with summer themed engagements. It’s vicious cycle.
Josie brought along her sister and a cousin and they acted as photo assistants. They held light stands or diffusers. The even carried some lighting gear. They were very helpful. I should have assistants more often.
As I write this blog post we have already photographed the wedding so I better get to work blogging the wedding photos. What? More wedding themed photos? Say it ain’t so! Just a hint, they turned out great.
