Ethan Reynolds at Chloe Lane

Recently I had the opportunity to photograph Ethan Reynolds. He is a model that has grace the covers of a number of magazines including Instinct and Refresh. He is a model for Ginch Gonch and others.

For this photo shoot we worked with Chloe Lane who were kind enough for us to use some clothes in the shoot. It was raining so we shot most the photos in an upstairs studio. I had brought my Alien Bees cause you always want to be prepared.

Ethan was fun to work with and he really is a talent in front of the camera.

Kade: Model, Actor, Poet

I met Kade through QUAC – at a car wash of all things. He needed some new portfolio pictures for his modeling and acting and of course I love photographing – perfect match!

We even enlisted the help of a wardrobe stylist – that was an adventure to find one. More on that in a different blog post.

Anyway, we photographed at Chloe Lane in Park City. They were kind enough to let us use their clothes and a spot upstairs because it was raining outside. And in exchange they can use any of the photos I took.

I will say – working with someone who has a manager – that is a bit different. Feels almost Hollywood.

Talk to the X

Who has had an ex-wife, ex-husband, ex-boy friend, ex-girl friend? To my knowledge I have always been good friends after the fact. But not everyone is as lucky. Sometimes things just don’t go well. For those moments you might want to check out a t-shirt company with some attitude Talk to the X.

I had the opportunity to photograph the shirts for the product pages – that is a bit of a challenge. The fun part of this job was photographing people in the shirts. People take direction much better than a t-shirt.

We were going to photograph outside but the day started off with a few inches of snow, so we photographed at the Provo Library. And I edited the photos to be more edgy, dark, and moody.

So buy one of their shirts – the insults are hilarious!

Gay Bowl 8 – Pep Rally & Fashion Show

Football and Fashion invaded Trolley Square over the weekend. This week 320 football players will decend on Salt Lake City in a vicious battle of blood, sweat and tears. Victory is their goal but few shall taste its sweetness.

What about the fashion I can hear you say… the fashion show featured models from Xpose Photography. Clothing was provided by Cockers, Cahoots, Spark and others. This event was the first of many for Gay Bowl 8. Visit their website to find out when games play and when the social events are in full swing. Woo hoo!

There are teams from Chicago, Washington DC, Denver, Atlanta, Boston, New York, California, and Minnesota. Salt Lake City has two teams playing in the tournament – the Avalance and the X-communicated.

Javin – Model in Training

Javin was awesome to work with – he just wanted photos but wasn’t sure what he wanted. So via email we brainstormed ideas and we settled on a favorite location – Saltair. We showed up about an hour before sunset so we would have beautiful golden light.

I did bring some speedlights so we could play with the sunlight and add in some of our own light. Lately I have really enjoyed shooting with the sun behind the subject and flash on camera left and you get some amazing photos. I also like shooting with the sun on one side of the subject and a flash on the other side and this really helps the subject pop.

We have a few photos that I think could be American Eagle photos – very cool. We also shot some more risque photos whick will not be featured – those are for him and him to share! If anyone wants boudiour photography or the like – let me know.

And Javin loved all the photos and is hoping to have another photo shoot again soon.

Mao’s Speedo Model Photoshoot

I have photographed for the QUAC swim team in Salt Lake City for a number of years. They have published 2 calendars featuring many of my photos. I recently had the chance to photograph Mao. He wanted some DNA Magazine style photos – men in speedos.

So we spent a few hours on a Saturday at a few different locations – a few different speedo changes and we got some awesome photos. The weather was overcast – and at times there were snow flakes which is a challenge for a guy in speedos – but the photos turned out great!
