Christmas Decorations – Overload Edition

written by dav.d

It is the holiday season and I am enjoying photographing the holiday decorations. So strap in and enjoy some photographs of 3 different Christmas trees that I found at my sister’s house. One of them is even a BYU tree – our family bleed BYU blue.

And the reason we were gathered was for my niece’s birthday. There are a few more photographs at my wedding photography website. And you can see the full gallery on my SmugMug.

It’s a Christmas Time of Year – Day 88 of 365

written by dav.d

Every year Christmas shows up earlier and earlier. Costco was the first offender that I know of – their shelves loaded up Christmas in July – JULY! That is half a year of Christmas. Pretty soon Christmas will be one year ahead of schedule. We might as well cancel the rest of the holidays – or rename them to Christmas on Valentine’s Day, Christmas on the Fourth of July, and Christmas on Halloween. Santa will never have a break again.

But I do love this time of year. October is about Halloween. November is about Thanksgiving – which is a true warm up to Christmas. With global warming – or the alleged global warming – winter seems to start late some years. By December we should have more snow on the ground which really gets the holidays going. And after Christmas? The count down to spring.

What do I want for Christmas this year? I will be writing my list and checking it twice – no doubt it will be photography related.
