Hailey & Kennedy – Day 328 of 365
written by dav.dMy department at my day job had a picnic at Canyon Glen up Provo Canyon. It was a dutch oven style luncheon – more photos will be posted of the food. In the mean time here is a photographed I took of Hailey and Kennedy. If you are a photographer, always take cool photos of the boss’s daughters and you gain brownie points.

To create this photograph I used my Canon 100mm f/2.8 IS Macro lens. I am using an off camera flash – the Canon 580ex II is on a light stand to camera right. It is being shot through a Honl Traveler 8 softbox. Camera settings: f/5.6, 1/200s, ISO 100, 100mm.

Children of the Bush – Day 290 of 365
written by dav.dIt is so nice to have my nieces and nephews here in Orem, Utah. It gives me the chance to practice some children photography – and I was even able to get them to calm down for a few minutes to take some headshots. Yes, I should have grabbed a reflector – but when it is Father’s Day and I am just hanging out with the family I usually don’t drag out the lighting and too much camera gear.

Babies on Discount Racks – Day 155 of 365
written by dav.dFriday is the day for the Daniels and Bush clans to get together for dinner and this time we went to BYU’s Cannon Center. While there my nephew Henry decided to hang out in the book bag cubby holes. I had taken a few photographs cropped tight to just show him – but then I thought it would be a much more unique composition to show the scale for the cubby holes in relation to the 2 year old tot.

Henry Wants Candy – Day 116 of 365
written by dav.dI am finally posting the photograph for December 28th. Maybe during the holidays I won’t worry so much about blogging the daily photograph on the actual day I took the photo. And I spent so much time designing a new look for the website – by now you should see the new look and feel.
This photograph is of my nephew Henry – he is waiting for candy – the kid is obsessed with candy.

Henry and the playset
I love spring time! This year spring has had a few snow storms and a LOT of rain. But the side effect has been beautiful green grass and green trees and there are some beautiful evenings where families spend time outside playing on the swings and spending quality time together. (more…)
