Road Trip to Utah from California – Day 192 of 365

written by dav.d

Heading from California to Utah is a bit of a downer – I will admit that completely. I left California at 65 degrees and sunny. Utah was 35 degrees and snow covered in the center of the state. And today’s daily photograph is on the road with gloomy clouds ahead. 10 hours in the car, ugh.

But it was a good road trip – I listened to a bunch of Suze Orman podcasts while driving. So it was very productive.

Tilt Shift California Edition – Day 191 of 365

California is just gorgeous – which is why I have photographed the gas station just outside my hotel window. I figured that if I am on the 8th floor I can at least practice faking a tilt shift lens with some Photoshop loving in Alien Skin Bokeh. Tilt shift lenses cost about $1500-$2500 and are a very specialty lens that I wouldn’t use much so they aren’t very high on my wish list. So I’ll fake it in Photoshop.

A Bouquet of Bokeh – Day 190 of 365

I am in California this weekend – I love California! I spent all of high school in central California going to Cabrillo High School. I should come visit more often. But I am here on photography business, wedding photography to be exact. I will be posting the photos on my wedding photography website – but here is one photograph of some spring flowers. Isn’t it always spring in Newport Beach California?

And this is another example of the bokeh you can achieve with the Canon 50mm f/1.2 lens – that thing rocks and I think it is my new live in lens. I keep saying that but it is true, damn true!
