At times I have done some commercial work for local businesses in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas. I don’t know why commercial work is so much more intimidating that portraiture. I believe that commercial work is held to a higher standard and I probably need more experience and practice. And I am sure I will need to be raising my rates to be a true commercial photographer. I don’t know if this will ever replace portraits and weddings – but who knows. Maybe this is my way of sneaking into food photography – or stock photography.
Anyway, enough of my blabbing about my photography.
Check out my photography of Image Studios. They have two locations – one in Salt Lake City and one in Draper. I was commissioned to photograph the two locations. They rent space to people to run their own business – mainly hair salons, stylists, massage therapists and such. I am sure there is a lot of creative work that goes on.

Image Studios - Providing business space for salons, massage, and more
Most of my work was more architecture photography – to capture the various rooms and salons. People can see existing businesses and then hopefully sign up to start their own business. I am sure that I could spend a whole day in each of the different rooms finding details or such. Perhaps down the road it would be fun to get people in action shots – nothing sells advertising better than when there are people in the photograph.
