The Canon 50mm f/1.2 has such a shallow depth of field it is going to be a challenge to make sure the eyes are in focus. But this is why I bought the lense – I want a much more ethereal look to my photography and that means controlling the focus and what is blurred out with depth of field. Althought the eyes were a bit soft in this photograph. Practice makes perfect.
I am finding that the Nikon metering system is also superior to Canon – or at least I like it better. I know the auto-focus is better on Nikon. Thank goodness I now use both systems.
