Valarie addresses the volunteers who helped at Utah's Gay Pride
When I photographed for Utah’s Gay Pride it was raining during the parade – and it rained off and on during the weekend. However, for the volunteer thank you dinner the weather was perfect – clear skies! It is about time. Utah Pride was a success! They were able to raise more money this year than any previous year before.
Utah Pride held a dinner to thank their volunteers
There were about 674 volunteers who helped Gay Pride be the success it was. Recognition for their efforts was a delicious dinner and some prizes. I was recognized for my help – and I even won a docking station for an iPod! Woo hoo! Last year I won a mini-fridge.
Hooray for lesbians!
I would encourage people to find some way to volunteer in their community. It is a wonderful thing. I give countless hours to local gay, lesbian, transgender organizations. There is so much need for volunteerism in your own neighborhood. Do something good today!
