I bought a new computer – a netbook to be exact. I bought a Dell Mini 9 netbook running Ubuntu’s latest operation system. I bought it because I needed something that can run the full internet – including flash video and has a keyboard. I love my iPhone and since my Macbook Pro went to laptop heaven several months ago I needed something.
It could be a little more stable – maybe I am so use to the Mac OS that I expect to much. The laptop has a little bit of issue waking up right away when I open the lid. The Mac is almost always awake in a second or two. But I went with Ubuntu because the OS doesn’t require a lot of power and it looks like it will run for 4 hours on a charge.
I use Foxmarks to synchronize my bookmarks in Firefox. I will be using the netbook to help maintain my two websites and browse the net. It comes fully loaded with some useful software – most of which I will never use.
I am saving my nickels for a Macbook Pro 17″ and a 24″ iMac – so anyone who want photography let me know, I need to earn some money. But this will tide me over for a while.
